TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol, May 16 (PIA)--Nihangyo karon ang Malakanyang sa mga lumolupyo sa Taiwan nga dili unta idamay ang mga overseas Filipino workers (OFWs). 

Atubangan kini sa gikatahong pagmaltrato sa mga among Taiwanese sa mga trabahanteng Pinoy tungod sa tensyon human sa napatay nga mangingisdang Taiwanese. 

Matud pa ni Presidential Spokesman Edwin Lacierda, wala may sala ang mga OFWs ug tarong man silang nanginabuhi sa Taiwan.

TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol, May 16 (PIA)--Gideklarar ni Presidente Benigno S. Aquino III ang ikatulong Lunes sa Hunyo matag tuig isip National Tour Guides' Day agig pag-ila sa kontibusyon sa sektor sa tourist guides sa kalamboan, pagpa-usbaw ug pagpalungtad sa turismo sa Pilipinas. 

Gipagawas sa Presidente ang deklarasyon pinaagi sa Proclamation No. 574 nga gilagdaan ni Executive Secretary Paquito N. Ochoa Jr. niadtong Mayo 7. 

"Tourism is an indispensable element of the national economy and an industry of national interest and importance, which must be harnessed as an engine of socio-economic growth and cultural affirmation," matud pa ni Presidente Aquino. 

Gitumbok sa Presidente nga sa Republic Act. No. 9593 or the “Tourism Act of 2009,” nagpausbaw sa industriya sa turismo nga ecologically sustainable, responsible ug participative. 

"Tour guides play a very significant role in tourism, as they promote, market and advocate the Philippines as a tourism destination, creating a favorable image of the country and contributing to an enriching Philippine experience for local and foreign visitors.” 

"The National Tour Guides’ Day provides an opportunity for professional tour guides to convene and conduct activities that will promote and advance their profession, and that will also draw the attention of authorities, the public and the media to the quality and the value of their work," matud pa.
